This is another poem written by John F. of Absecon, it is very touching...it is titled - COMFORT

Comfort

You've shown us what's important
The things that are worthwhile
You've done so with uncommon grace
And with your treasured smile
You've helped us see what matters
What makes a better world
Family is what makes a home
You give us this, amazing girl
You've brought together many souls
That may have never met
You've planted seeds that grow to trees
Their shadows shade us from regret
Family makes a house a home
And through you our home grew
Into this community
That wants so now to comfort you
You've touched us all so deeply
With eyes that shine like starlight
A soul as pure as winters snow
That makes the darkest days seem bright
While none of us can ever know
Which path we'll have to travel
The trip is what we make of it
A road of gold or road of gravel
You walk your path with dignity
Uncommon for your years
The model you have set for us
Will live on long beyond our tears
Your heart, it seems, is mountain size
And beats with ours together
You've made a home within our hearts
To comfort us forever

This is an original poem written by Kelly McEvoy.  Kelly is Shelby (and Justin's) 15 year old cousin.

Titled - "I am Sorry"

I hate the way this makes me feel

And I can't believe this is for real

My friend,my cousin, my voice of reason

So young and unaware of this chance of treason

It's like your body has betrayed you

No one knows what to do

I wish I knew, really I wish that I could fix this all by myself

Just for a moment put my emotions upon shelf

I am sorry that you have to lose your hair

And I am sorry for all the tubes you have to wear

But I am sorry that this is the way it has to be

But most of all I am sorry that this is you instead of me.
